tara lenney

Well, hey there!

Tara Lenney, here. Interior Designer, wife, and momma to two insanely adorable little boys - Henry my threenager and Max is the giant beast baby. I'm a Texas girl, born and bread, living just outside of Dallas. I recently left my full time job after a decade in the corporate design world to create a simpler life with these little guys.

I love design, cooking, sewing, morning cuddles, and copious amounts of coffee. This new life of being home full time with two tiny kiddos while balancing Interior Design work, the blog, my marriage to my wonderful husband, and the day to day drudgery of keeping a house (relatively) presentable has proven to been a pretty tall order. Stay tuned to see if I manage to keep my sanity.

Simply Crafted is about beautiful spaces, handmade goodness, and not taking yourself too seriously. It is my answer to a desperately needed creative outlet and a way to talk to grown ups. I'm believe your space should be worthy of the life you want to be living in it. I share pretty things, fun projects, helpful tips, and real life moments to (hopefully) inspire you to create the life you've always dreamed of too.

LIFE PHILOSOPHY

I wholeheartedly believe that happiness is a state of mind. An intentional choice, not a feeling. Let me tell you, it's not always the easy choice with a 3 year old and baby around. My personal formula is pretty straightforward:

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

I believe that designing your space is as important as designing your life, and that both inform the other. Your space should always be evolving because so are you, and it will never be "done" or "perfect." That would be lame. I want my kids to feel at home in my house as my guests.

My personal style is casual, accessible, and modern. Casual is a nice way of saying "lived in," which is a nice way of saying "messy." Mid Century furnishings are my bag of chips, a dash of color is always welcome, and there's no such thing as too much gold. On anything. E V E R.

More about me...if for some reason that wasn't enough.
