This bathroom has a few things going for it. It's not horribly small, the tile is basic white (no crazy pink tiles to try to battle with), and it has a skylight over the tub, so the room is bathed in natural light most of the day. Since the major surfaces are white tile (floor, tub surround, and vanity) and there's ample daylight, we can do some bolder colors in here and the room can totally handle it.
Here's what we're thinking at the moment (and some of these are freebies!):
Shopping List
- Shower curtain from Urban Outfitters that we already own.
- Industrial Fisherman's Wharf type light fixture from Restoration Hardware (or something similar)
- DIY wine boxes turned shelves. I picked up a bunch of these on the side of the road while on a walk with Henry, THREE DAYS before Max was born. Yep, I'm that lady. We walked with them all over the stroller for a solid mile, one day past my due date, obscenely pregnant. It was absurd...and worth it.
- Field paint - Benjamin Moore Revere Pewter. We have this color all over the house, so we have plenty left over.
- Potential accent paint - Benjamin Moore Hale Navy. We have this as an accent in our Master Bedroom and Powder Room, so we have lots of this to use up as well.
- Waterfall faucet that we already own. It's sitting in the garage, left over from our Master Bath-wrong-vanity-delivered-snafu.
- Hardware from Anthropologie (or something similar).
- Whale tub from Target that we already own.
- Towels from Target (no longer available) that we already own.
- Submarine bath toy organizer from Target that we already own.
- Young House Love wall hook from Target that we bought this weekend.
- FREE printable from irocksowhat.
- FREE printable from irocksowhat to further my obsession with Wes Anderson.
That's our design direction. The great news is that we own most of this already and just need to put it together. The light fixture will be the only remaining big spend. Next step is to make up my mind on paint color(s) and locations. Should we use the Navy? Do you guys have any opinions?
